Social Media and How We Communicate

We communicate across, countries, cultures and across the world. Social media allows us to make friends, communicate, share information, and develop relationships. 

How do you integrate valuable and meaningful communication into the changed world of social media? (EKU, 2020) #multitasking, #awkward

There is a sense of urgency, a short message that creates an idea of connectivity. Is social media a way to connect across the world or the end of the real world? Is it an advertisers Mecca?

"There is a certain ease in making online connections that can’t be replicated offline and it’s this ease that appeals to the time-poor, emotionally guarded side of me. Follow? Follow back, job done!" (Floyer, 2022)Can this be programmed into our social media platforms, the need for connected, real relationships? LinkedIn has an email categorization process that will filter out junk mail to the point it will recognize what the person thinks is junk mail.
